City Explorers with Baby Jogger
the weather is finally warm + i’ve been exploring all around our city with my two younger ones. being that Aarya is in full exploration mode, planning our days has been such an adventure. i have learned a few tricks in the past few years with three little ones to help prepare myself, them + our gear for a stress free outing.i normally designate two days out of the week for our outings as a trio, once summer comes along + Zayan is home with us, it’ll be three days. the two days that work best for my current schedule are mondays + wednesdays, consistency is the key with little ones. the evening before i coordinate their outfits (yes, i am THAT mom), get the diaper bag together with the necessary items, such as their snacks, water bottles, diapers (obviously) + sunnies, summer hats + sunblock.
sometimes, i’ll pre-pack our lunch for the next day as well, but that mostly depends on where we plan on going.
now i feel like these next two things have saved me from baby/toddler meltdowns + exhaustion. first, i ALWAYS do my best to get out of the house first thing in the morning, the earlier we head out, the better. depending on where we head to, i set an alarm on my phone to remind me the time we should leave that place in order to be back home for naps. i utilize that one to two hour block of time, while they nap, for work emails/preparing dinner, etc., so it’s always something i make a priority for them, as well as myself.
second, my gear. the stroller of choice for our family has been the city select by BABY JOGGER it has now traveled to three countries, multiple states, by air, train + car, seen all terrain from sand to snow. i’ve got a pretty good grasp on why we love this brand of stroller, it’s beyond versatile! if you’re interested in knowing more details of our city select double stroller, leave your comment below + i’ll be sure to compile a full list of pros + cons (because every stroller has both!). apologies, i digress. now that we’re in this new phase with Aarya, the explorer (or her other nickname, Aarya STARK!) i realized the double stroller was unnecessary for our outings. enter, the BABY JOGGER city mini GT2 y’all, i absolutely love this stroller. the simple, compact, one hand hold has me head over heels with it’s three wheel maneuverability. it’s the smoothest, most comfortable ride! i also must mention its magnetic, TWO peek-a-boo window canopy. the seat fully reclines back, the calf support is adjustable + once folded, it stands on its own.
being out with two little ones has its moments, but what i don’t want is for my troubles to come from the gear i chose. once we’re out, we explore local parks, gardens, D.C. museums + most favorite place, Georgetown! we grab a light lunch to eat before we head home. we’re able to make the most out of three to four hours before their nap. once home, i get Alaïa down for her nap first + then Aarya. plant myself down to get to what i need to get to. this routine has truly helped me maintain a balance, sanity + feel good about the fuss free memories we’ve made to cherish for a long time to come.
hope this helps you plan for your adventurous days ahead!
