There’s always something fun to do in Dallas! We have enjoyed exploring a lot of the different things that are available to do in Dallas/Ft. Worth. Things to do in Dallas with Animal Lovers
If your family loves animals, there are plenty of things to do in Dallas that will be perfect for you! From zoos and aquariums to animal shows and more, there are tons of options to choose from.
The Dallas Zoo (https://www.dallaszoo.com/) – This is the oldest zoological park in Texas is right in downtown Dallas. There are over 2,000 animals to see! If you have animal lovers it’s a must. There is even a giraffe feeding platform where you can buy food to feed the animals.
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science (https://www.perotmuseum.org/) This museum has 11 different exhibit halls with things like fossils, minerals , animals, and more. There is also an IMAX theater on site.
Texas Horse Park (http://texashorsepark.com/) This is a great place to go if you want to learn more about horses or take a trail ride. They offer lessons for all levels, so everyone in the family can participate. No matter what your interests are, there are sure to be things to do in Dallas with kids that the whole family will enjoy!
Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park (https://www.fairparkdallas.com/)- This aquarium is specifically designed for kids aged 2-12. They can touch stingrays, see sharks, and learn all about the different creatures that live in the sea.
The Dallas World Aquarium (https://dwazoo.com/)- This is a must-see for animal lovers of all ages. You can even feed the stingrays!
Sea Life Grapevine Aquarium (https://www.visitsealife.com/grapevine/) Located just 30 minutes away from downtown Dallas near DFW airport, this aquarium is a great way to spend a hot day. Get up close and personal with over 5,000 different sea creatures at this interactive aquarium
Outdoor Adventures and Playgrounds in Dallas
Is there anything better than a great park to let your kids run off some steam? There are so many options in Dallas/Ft. Worth! Here are a few ideas if you’re looking for somewhere new to try.
Klyde Warren Park – There’s no standard playground equipment here. Instead, kids can explore a water feature, an outdoor reading room, a putting green, and more!
Trinity River Audubon Center – If your family loves nature, this is the place for you! With over 500 acres to explore, there’s plenty of space to run around and learn about the great outdoors.
Lakewood Park Playground – This playground is unique in that it was designed specifically for children with special needs. But all kids will enjoy the sensory garden, music plaza, and plenty of other fun things to do.
White Rock Lake Park – This is a great option if you’re looking for things to do in Dallas with kids that are a little older. With 9 miles of trails, it’s perfect for a family bike ride or hike. And don’t forget to bring your fishing poles- there’s plenty of good spots for fishing here!
Exall Park Playground – This playground is located in downtown Dallas, and features a sprayground, swings, climbing structures, and more.
Learning through History in Dallas
Dallas is a great place to learn about history. From the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum to the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, there are plenty of places to explore the past. You can also take a step back in time at the Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park, which is a living history museum with over 50 historic buildings. And for a truly unique experience, you can even take a cattle drive at the Fort Worth Stockyard!
